Session 6 Recap: Kyle Public Library Adult Game

With their companion Usk taken into custody by the authorities of the Grand, times were uncertain for the adventurers. His status as a criminal was certain to the gnome police for Usk’s assault on a citizen of the Grand. Unfortunately, Usk was busy causing trouble in the Hole below the guard station. In his agitation at being confined, Usk started a fight with the other occupant of the cell in which they were placed. He bit the human, and when the guards came to investigate, he attempted to fight them as well.

After the fracas ended in the Hole, the group was significantly less enthusiastic about pushing for Usk’s release. However, both Gentle River and Krend were interested in seeing that those wounded in the fight, and said as much to the authorities within the guard station. Their offers of assistance got River invited to speak to the man in charge. Korvel accompanied her to an office upstairs, where they met by a dwarf official. He did not have their best interests at heart. With spell and force, he incapacitated them in preparation for turning River in for a large bounty.

Krend and Hadari waited outside the guard station for River and Korvel to be done with their meeting when they saw an imposing figure approaching. He was clad in mirrored black armor and his face was stern. He was obviously not a man to be trifled with. The gnomes inside agreed. This was Trent, head smith of the Grand, and someone who know how to do more than forge the weapons he wore at his belt. He was shown upstairs with Krend and Hadari at his heels, only to find the door blocked. After destroying the door, Trent ran the dwarf through with his broadsword.

The dwarf was looted, but the question remains: who placed a bounty of Gentle River’s head? Who knows what fate awaits wounded Usk in the dark of the Hole?

Incident Report Gr-12a3
“Action report as dictated by Scrivener Gadus, second-tier. The reptile was especially aggressive, though the reasons were unknown. Perhaps it was under the influence of some substance that caused its rage. Nonetheless, its handlers seemed disappointed that they could not retrieve the beast. I cannot speculate as to the cause of the current influx of violence in the Grand, but I remain hopeful that these vagabonds will leave us in peace. We are underpaid and understaffed. I, for one, am not trained to deal with fighting beasts roaming the street.”
